Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony has been wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court since 2005. Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) left Uganda in 2006, but he has continued to cause destruction among communities in neighbouring countries. He is accused of kidnapping thousands of the area’s children to serve both as fighters for the LRA and as sex slaves. LRA activity has also displaced thousands of people. Kony is now thought to be in the Central African Republic with the fewer than 300 fighters left in his group.
